Joanna Carter was born in Miami, Florida. She pursued her God-given gift for art at the University of Central Florida, and in 2009, she received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Drawing. In 2013, she went on to receive her Master’s in Fine Arts from Florida International University. Her work has been exhibited in shows across the east coast including the cities of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Atlanta, and New York City.
Ms. Carter also has a love for sharing her heart for God and appreciation of art with children. She taught music for K-12th grade in Sunrise Florida before moving to North Carolina in 2015. She also has served in youth ministry for over 12 years at her South Florida church and for the last 2 years at her home church, Grace Covenant.
Upon moving to North Carolina, Ms. Carter found her spiritual home at Grace Covenant Church, and presently enjoys volunteering in the youth and women ministries. As a substitute teacher at GCA, Ms. Carter felt the pull on her heart to be back into the classroom again, investing in the lives of children.
