Middle School Science Teacher
Mr. Lovegrove has spent the last 8 years in Texas but was born and raised in southern West Virginia. The expected addition of a second daughter in November led him and his wife, Rinata, and daughter, Caroline, to move to the Lake Norman area where his parents now reside. Mr. Lovegrove and his wife love the outdoors, including wilderness backpacking and short hikes with the family. They also love to travel, especially when taking part in mission trips. Their favorite mission trip together was aiding in disaster relief in Nepal after the 2015 earthquake.
Mr. Lovegrove graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and minors in Business Administration and Spanish from West Virginia University in 2010. His plans were to become a physician and he completed almost two years of medical school at West Virginia University. This is when He received the clear and strong call from God to enter Christian ministry and education. He began teaching at First Baptist School in Brownsville, TX, a city located in the Rio Grande Valley on the border with Mexico. During his time in Texas, he taught Bible and high school/dual enrollment science. While in Texas, he earned a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University. He also served for a time as the elementary principal and children’s minister at his church.
Mr. Lovegrove has a passion for teaching students about God and His amazing creation. He believes that a quality education has at its foundation the Word of God. His desire is for all of his students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He knows that each student was created with a unique purpose and loves to play a small part in helping each student discover that purpose. He ultimately desires to see students equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a positive impact on the world for the Kingdom of Christ.
Mr. Lovegrove is excited to teach at Grace Covenant Academy. He looks forward to becoming a part of this wonderful team that is dedicated to serving God and educating students.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
This verse reminds me that we are God’s masterpieces and that he has a unique plan for each of us. I am excited to see what good things God has for everyone at GCA this coming year!
