Middle School ELA & Social Studies
Jill Graham is a long-time resident of North Carolina, and after a 2 ½ year adventure in Colorado, has moved back home to the Charlotte area with her husband Matt and two children, Wes and Julie. She is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill with a BA in Secondary English Education (1998). After years of asking tough questions about her faith, she discovered apologetics, which shows that the Christian faith is based on reasonable foundations. This lead her to pursue and complete a Masters degree in Religion with a focus on apologetics at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte (2011).
After teaching English and theater for nine years in the public schools (Providence High School in Charlotte, and Forest Hills High School in Marshville, NC), she took break to have her two children, returning to teach part-time at Arborbrook Christian Academy in the south Charlotte area. As a theater teacher, she has directed productions such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Princess Bride, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Little Women, and an original production: Into the Wardrobe, which highlights classic scenes from the works of C.S. Lewis.
She loves to bring learning and literature to life through drama, and to show students how all learning, especially the arts and literature, find their true fulfillment when used in the service of the King. She also has a heart to help students see that their faith is reasonable, and to prepare them to stand their ground and to discern between truth and falsehood in a world that is increasingly hostile to Christianity. She has a true love for her students and seeing them grow in their faith and in their appreciation of literature, history, and how these fit into the Christian worldview.
She is thrilled to be back teaching full-time in a Christian school at GCA, and taking the adventure of teaching Language Arts and Social Studies to the 6th and 7th grade classes.
Jill is excited to be back teaching full-time at a Christian school that is grace-filled and faith-based. She enjoys the freedom to teach the whole truth, and to integrate the Christian faith into all she teaches. She has been impressed by the caring atmosphere and academic excellence of GCA.
