Mrs. Bush is originally from Pittsburgh, PA but has lived in Charlotte since 2009 with her husband, Josh, new baby, Ezra and her sweet pup, Syris. When she is not teaching or doing something school-related, Mrs. Bush loves to travel. She has been to 10 different countries and 28 different states.
Mrs. Bush earned a dual degree of Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and Bachelor of Science in Spanish education from Grove City College, PA. She graduated cum laude in December 2008 and spent the remainder of the school year as a substitute for grades K – 8 in four different parochial schools in the inner city of Pittsburgh. She joined the GCA staff in 2009 and has taught predominantly fifth grade since 2011 until the switch this year to STEM.
Mrs. Bush chose the profession of teaching because she believes the Lord has called her to build future leaders through education. She loves to connect with her students on a personal level so that she can learn about and help develop each child’s unique gifts. She is an enthusiastic, dedicated teacher whose teaching philosophy is centered on individualizing instruction to meet the needs of each student. She loves to learn and believes that building relationships is the foundation to inspiring minds.
Mrs. Bush loves teaching at GCA because the school has a family environment that is enveloped in positivity, genuine care, and spiritual growth. The teachers love to teach and the students love to learn!
