From a very early age Mrs. Mary has loved children. She applauds their sincerity and simple faith. Mrs. Mary considers it a privilege to teach and to observe the growth and development of children during the elementary years. To Mrs. Mary there is no more exciting adventure than to help students learn to read and explore the world God created.
Mrs. Mary has a diverse secondary education background. Her first degree was a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. She graduated from a three year hospital based program to become a registered nurse. Mrs. Mary then returned to school to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She worked as a maternal child nurse focusing on neonatal intensive care for seventeen years. She returned to college to complete graduate classes in elementary education. Mrs. Mary has been blessed to be a part of GCA from the beginning, the first year as a parent and as a staff member ever since.
Mrs. Mary looks forward to a blessed year filled with growth and discovery for our school family.
Teaching at GCA is truly a deposit in heaven. Mrs. Mary’s favorite part of the day is when her class prays together. Hearing simple prayer requests is a rich blessing. Knowing we can pray many times during the day: during morning routines, before meals, when a classmate is sick or falls on the playground are crucial in developing a reliance on God. Chapel presentations are a wonderful opportunity to worship God and grow in understanding biblical teaching. Incorporating God’s design in creation is intrinsic to all academic endeavors. The co-operative spirit evidenced while working with other believers is invaluable.
In short, Mrs. Mary knows teaching at GCA is a life calling and a ministry for which she is profoundly grateful. She isn’t just teaching the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic. She is witnessing the advancement of the kingdom of God!
