For Students Applying to Kindergarten – Grade 8

Step 1: Application

Submit an application along with the application fee of $100 per student. If a seat is available for your child in the class you are applying for, we will notify you via email if a seat is available or if your child will be placed on the waitlist. Waitlist information will be available on the website or by contacting the school office.

As part of the application submission, students entering Grades 1 – 8 must give their current teacher/school a recommendation form to be sent directly from the current school to GCA. Finally, the student’s most recent report card should be submitted to GCA.

You will have 48 hours to schedule your family interview and proceed to STEP 2. Failure to respond will result in forfeiture of your seat.

Step 2: Entrance Testing

If school records are not able to be submitted with the application or are incomplete for students in Grades 1 – 8, entrance testing may be required. The fee for entrance testing is $50 per student. The admissions office will work with families to schedule this as needed within a 1-2 week time frame.

All applying Kindergarten students will be required to complete a Kindergarten entrance test prior to finalizing enrollment. The cost of this testing is covered by the school.

Step 3: Family Interview & Student Shadowing

Upon full completion of all application documents (recommendation forms and records/testing results) parents will be asked to set up a family interview. Both applying parents must be present for the family interview, along with any applying students. This is your opportunity to discuss any questions you have and discover what it means to be a partner at GCA. The admissions office will follow up after the family interview to provide instructions on completing the enrollment process (forms and fees).

Any students applying to Grades 4 – 8 will be required to come for an additional hour shadowing opportunity ahead of any interview appointment time. During the shadow day new students will participate in classroom activities, get to know current students, and meet with GCA teachers.

Step 4: Final Enrollment

After the family interview and shadow day has been completed, parents will be emailed instructions to complete your child’s online enrollment forms and submit the enrollment fee. All enrollment forms and fees should be submitted online within ten business days from the date of the family interview.

For Students Applying to our Early Education Classes

Step 1: APPLICATION

Submit an application (link) and $50 application fee online. Applications are handled in the order received. GCA will review each application and email families to let you know of space available or ask if you would like to be placed on a wait list. Should a spot be available you will have 5 business days to accept the spot, otherwise we will move to the next family in line.

STEP 2: ENROLLMENT

When a family accepts a spot at GCA you will be emailed a link to the online enrollment packet. Each family will have 10 business days to complete and submit the enrollment pack.

STEP 3: ENTRANCE TESTING

Upon submission of the enrollment packet new Early Ed students will be contacted to set up an entrance testing date at GCA. Entrance testing is facilitated by a former GCA teacher on the GCA campus. Specific details will be given when you select a day. There is no fee for testing.

STEP 4: FAMILY INTERVIEW

After entrance testing is completed for new PreK students, a family interview will be scheduled to go over testing results and answer any questions that families may have.
