Early Education

The Early Education program at Grace Covenant Academy offers students ages 3-5 a fun, safe learning environment where they can grow spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We strive to provide rich, stimulating activities and experiences that will foster a love of learning and appreciation for God, His created world, and one another.

  • Water Pump
  • King Q
  • Prayer
  • Volcanoes
  • Spelling Letter C
  • Playground
  • Class curriculums are carefully selected to introduce your child to developmentally appropriate materials and concepts that lay a foundation for math, reading, writing and language skills, and gross/fine motor development.

All Early Education class times are 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Students bring a small snack and lunch which they will eat before dismissal.

  • All Early Education classes have an opportunity to take advantage of resources in our Grace Covenant Academy Library.

3's students are visited in-class by our Librarian who shares a new book with them weekly and brings a cart of thoughtfully selected books they may enjoy and borrow until her next visit.

Pre-K and Transitional Kindergarten classes visit the school library on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Classes enjoy hearing stories from our Librarian, learn about caring for and borrowing books, and are allowed to check out books to take back to their classroom until their next class visit.

  • Christ is the center of our program; we provide opportunities for students to know and develop a love for Jesus. For that reason, all Early Education classes participate in daily Bible stories and character concepts as well as weekly Preschool Chapel services which are designed with the young child in mind.

  • Each class participates in physical enrichment activities through our new Motion and Movement Class. This weekly class incorporates activities and games designed to help develop greater flexibility, balance, coordination, and ease of movement. These promote a healthy vestibular system and in turn increase a child’s ability to learn, engage and participate in class.

  • On a weekly basis, our three-year-olds are given the opportunity to grow in language and early math skills through our carefully selected curriculum. Social development is the primary goal with our three-year-olds and the program reflects that intent.

Children must be 3 years of age before August 31 and must be potty-trained to qualify for any of our Three-Year-Old classes.

We offer the following three-year-old classes:

    3-Day

    5-Day

  • Additionally, we incorporate indoor and outdoor free-play into our daily schedule. We have a newly updated outdoor playground with multiple activities for gross motor play and a tricycle track to aid development of core body strength. Free, or undirected play provides students an opportunity to establish social skills by encouraging cooperation and problem-solving, sharing and sensitivity to others.

  • Pre-Kindergarten classes are for students who are 4 years of age. Each week Pre-K students focus on a particular letter of the alphabet in order to explore the areas of language, music, art, listening, observation and experimentation, selected Bible characters and stories, character traits, and games.

Children must be 4 years of age before August 31 in order to qualify for any of our Pre-Kindergarten classes.

We offer the following Pre-Kindergarten class options:

    4-Day (M–Th)

    5-Day (M–F)

  • The Early Education Department at Grace also hosts Special Events such as field trips, Christmas and End-of-Year Programs, and themed events to encourage family involvement. Enrichment themes and visits by Community Service Professionals help expand our students’ understanding of our community and the world we live in. As a part of Grace Covenant Academy, the Early Education Department participates in All School Events, dances, fundraisers, festivals, and other activities when possible.

Grace Covenant Academy Preschool also has a registered nurse onsite as well as full time security officer.

  • Our Transitional Kindergarten is designed to help prepare students who may just miss the age requirements for Kindergarten or need an additional year to prepare for the increasing social, emotional, and academic challenges that Kindergarten presents.

This 5-day class is a bridge between pre-kindergarten and kindergarten that gives students the opportunity to further develop the pre-literacy, pre-math, cognitive, and social skills necessary to feel confident and capable in a Kindergarten classroom.

Children must be 5 years of age before October 15 in order to qualify for our Transitional Kindergarten class.

  • We are pleased to partner with a variety of local providers to offer extra-curricular activities in dance, music, science, martial arts, and sports for an additional fee. Each program "season" or session lasts 8 weeks and is offered at different days of the week. These vary based on availability and participation.  Participants must be pre-registered to attend.

All outside programs are vetted and providers are background checked.
